Dryer

Here is our brand new $800 dryer.
Here is the vent that our landlord "made" for the old dryer.
Here is the old dryer.

Did you know that when you buy and expensive dryer they do not come with electric plugs or dryer vents. So when your landlord has a hole cut in the bottom of his laundry room because he forgot to put in a dryer vent, you now have what we have, a dryer in a bunch of pieces in your living room. The best part about it all is that the hardware store is closed until tomorrow morning and you bought your dryer at Home Depot on St.Thomas. The even better part is that one of they guys that works for Jay was on St. Thomas today also and was able to get us some vent tubing, we think. We will see how this all turns out.

Thank you for my...

Pirate Treasure chest,

Miley Cyrus CD..I know its not here birthday but how can you not love that face!
Transformer and transformer Tshirt,

I love them all!

How its done

When it rains so much the kids and I get tired of scooping buckets full of water out of the pool to keep it at the right level. Jay brought home a pump that did the work in an hour.

So that's whatcha' doing

The first one tried to get in, the second one succeeded and took a tour around the house.

Jay finally cornered it in the bathroom. 2 notebooks and a dog dish later we put him back outside.

Whatcha' Doin?

Wildlife around us

We were eating lunch at school today and this lovely fellow wanders up for a snack. I am standing on the deck outside of my classroom. The children watching him did not bother him, neither did the 5th graders walking out of art. The deer had a nice snack than wandered back into the woods where he came from.

Invest 93

Invest 93 the latest in tropical weather is forming off the coast of...our backyard. Actually it is forming around Puerto Rico and since we are about 60 miles from PR it might as well be our backyard. It has rained all day with lots of gusts of wind. Surfs Up!

UGH

Our dryer broke last weekend. Our landloard is still in the states. I have about 5 loads of laundry to do. It is raining out. I have a load of wet sheets from yesterday that were almost dry from hanging on the line. Nothing is going to dry in this weather. UGH!

Birthday Pizza

Quinn asked for Ronnie's pizza for his birthday. Ronnie's is open after being closed for a month and a half. We were all so excited for good pizza! Quinn also asked for his 6 candle in his pizza. He is talking to Matt while pointing at the pizza.

6 candles in his cupcake. He loved every minute of his birthday. Thanks to all of you that called and sent things to him. I will post some more pictures over the weekend. His party is next Saturday. It is a pirate party and he cannot wait!!!

School

We lost power today at school around 945. The decision was made to close school around 1045. The power came back on at 1140. All the kids were gone by 1145. When power is lost on the island you never know when it will be back on. WAPA (the power company) is known for their "quick response time". Meaning the power will "soon come". They told the school it would be 3-4 hours. As much as I hated seeing the kids leave early, it was nice to come home and not have to rush around. Since we got home around 1230 I have cleaned the porch, gotten 2 loads of laundry done, made cupcakes for Quinn's birthday tomorrow, and made banana bread. I am enjoying this! The kids are just relaxing, swimming, and playing.

Caught in the Act

In case you were wondering...

how frogs get it done...

When we went to bed last night there were 5 frogs just sitting by the edge of the pool, waiting. This morning, you guessed it, more frog eggs.

Coconuts

Quinn found two coconuts at a birthday party last week. He saved them for Jay to open this weekend. Jay was outside with a hacksaw, screwdriver and hammer. It did not take him as long as I thought. Both kids drained the milk out and then threw the nut on the ground to crack it open to get to the meat. Out of the 2 coconuts we got about 1 cup of milk and a bunch of meat to grind up and eat, Yummy!!

They found it!

The kids got some face paint while we were on Cape Cod this summer. When we left the Cape it was put somewhere safe. We totally forgot about it until they found it yesterday afternoon. They have been very busy.

Guilty Party

I think this is one of the frogs "helping" with the eggs in the pool. We found more in the pool this morning.

Flushing

We had to flush some of the tadpoles the other day. What my children do not know is that their mother flushed about 5x that many down the toilet. We cannot have that many tadpoles swimming around. As a friend of mine said "Isnt that some type of plague, all those frogs?"
