Celebrity sighting...I think

No its not Kenny Chesney! I walked into my staff meeting on Tuesday and looked at this guy and thought...do I know him?, I must he looks really familiar. Then it hits me, Survivor Micronesia, he found the fake idol and worshiped Ozzy. His name is Jason and he teaches Spanish and History.

Weather

It is hot as crap here. Not to mention humid. Oh and did I mention that due to the rain we got from Fay the mosquitoes are out, they could carry off a small child! We finally have an ac in our main room but not in the bed rooms. The ac's are hung in the rooms but there is not electricity to them. The ac in the main room makes our life that much more bearable.

As they say on the island AC soon come.

Doggie

I have been getting a bunch of emails about the diggity dog so I thought I would let everyone know how she is. $588 later she is fine. She lays around a lot and trys to run up and down stairs but cant make it back up. Her personality has not changed one bit. She is still as crazy as ever. She puts pressure on her leg sometimes. It should take her about 4-6 weeks to get back to normal. We go back next week a follow up appointment and to find out how to give her physical therapy. Just what I need, doggie therapy!

Boaters

We took a boat over to Virgin Gorda today. We went with a bunch of folks from Pond Bay. It took us about 2 hours to get to Virgin Gorda. Virgin Gorda is a BVI and known for its rock formations. Among all of these formations are great swim tunnels and snorkeling. We had a blast on the boat. The boat had 2 state rooms as well as 2 bathrooms. There was also a small galley, tables and chairs. The kids loved the front state room. The locked themselves in there twice! I would have taken pictures but....dead camera battery. Dont worry, i am working on it!
Here are some pictures that I downloaded from the internet

Another one down

Walker pulled out one of her front teeth today. Both of her teeth have been dangling for the past few days. One of them is finally gone, the other one will fall shortly.

I had just enough juice in my battery to take the picture. Still no battery charger

Beans

We were sitting in the doctors office today discussing beans. This is what my kids had to say about beans...

Quinn "I dont like beans. I only like jelly beans"

Walker : "I dont like jelly beans they are too sweet. I like the kind of beans that make you fart"

What can I say, she takes after her dad.

Salt Pond

From all of the rain we had on Thursday night the Salt pond behind our house filled up. The coral head that use to be in the middle of the pond is now covered up again. We got about 14 inches of rain on Thursday night. There is another Invest headed our way this weekend. It should pass north of us but we are keeping our eyes on it.

Aunt Jane's visit

Jay's sister Janie and her boyfriend Scott came to visit us last week. We had a great time with them! We toured the island, went to Skinny's (yummy!), went out on a boat with Captain John of Palm Tree Charters (awesome!) (thanks Mary and John!) for the day, hit a bunch of beaches including Maho on Sunday. Everyone had a great time. It was great to see Janie and Scott! Come back soon!

p.s. Sorry for the lack of pictures but I lost my battery charger for my camera.

Invest 92

Last night Invest 92, the "not even a tropical storm but now named Tropical Storm Fay"came through St. John. As you can see by the photos, we had about an inch of standing water in our family room. The drain outside clogged up and all the water came in the front door! I spent the morning sweeping water out of the house and drying papers with a giant fan. We had a lot of stuff on they ground, files, books, rugs. It has been a long and exhausting day but almost everything is dry and tomorrow is another day.

Look at our infinity pool!

Why She Doesn't Like St.John

The reasons why Walker does not like St.John...

1. Its hot! There is no AC. (I have to agree on this one)

2. We go to the same beach all the time.

3. I have to share a room with my brother.

Return from Cape Cod

We caught the 9pm people ferry on Saturday night to make it home from Cape Cod. What a relief! There is not a 10pmferry, so had we missed it we would have had to wait until 11pm. We were pretty lucky to make it since our plane landed at 755. Anyway, we spent yesterday doing laundry and trying to get all of the excess water out of our pool. It rained a lot while we were gone and our pool came pretty close to overflowing. Today the kids and I are going to take care of a bunch of stuff in town that we could not do yesterday, mail, landlords mail, deposit rent check, get some groceries, drop of contract of employment. Oh yes, and more laundry! I will post pictures of the Cape later on today.
