Groundbreaking at Pond Bay

We took a safari taxi from the trailers to the tents for the groundbreaking

The tents where the ceremony was. Jay talking to Ron Davoli, president Wharton Smith.

Mike and the governor. The groundbreaking

I made it on the blog!!!! Hi everyone! Sergeant Major Heather

A place to rest my drink

We had the official groundbreaking yesterday at Pond Bay. All of the local celebrities and politicians were there including the governor of the Virgin Islands, John deJongh. This project has been in the works for approximately 20 years but never seemed to get off the ground so everyone was very excited to be there!

Jost Van Dyke

A friend of ours, Heather, recently had a birthday. She invited us to help her celebrate by going to Jost Van Dyke, a British Virgin Island. We took boat there with some of her freinds and other couples that work with Jay. Of course our children were the only kids but they managed to entertain everyone!
On the Bad Dog II on our way to Jost Van Dyke

Drinking my Sprite on the Beach!

Chillin' on the Beach
The famous Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost. Yes the bar really is that small. The reason it is called the soggy dollar bar is that there is not a dock so the only way to get to the beach is to swim, therefore your dollars become soggy, hence the name.

We spent most of the day in the water. The water was very refreshing and cool.

On the way home, Sammy the boat captain, let the kids drive the boat.

As Quinn's shirt says...Peace, Love & Sandy Toes.

Sleeping the day away

After a long night of sleepovers, my "3 kids" fell asleep on the couch. After Walker woke up she swore she did not take a nap. "I did not close my eyes at all" she said. Lucky for me I had the pictures to prove it. The funniest part was that they fell asleep during a show about aircraft carriers. The noise from the tv was so loud with all the jets taking off.

We are off to Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands today for a friends birthday. It should be interesting considering there is a 70% chance of rain.

Saturday Soccer

We found a soccer group for the kids to play in on Saturday Mornings. The parks & rec here do not have many activities for kids. Most sports are organized by parents. There is only 1 field in Cruz Bay for the kids to play on. The goals are made of pvc pipe and the orange tree save fence that you see at construction sites. There are about 20 kids who participate in this group. Everyone gets together and Smiley (the head guy) puts them through drills and mini games. The only drawback so far is that it gets hot fast! The kids have only been twice but they love it.

Ananda, Maggie & Walker

Maggie & Walker

Walker had 2 of her friends come over last night for a slumber party. The girls were up until midnight. The swam, watched movies and played. When they got up on Saturday it was more swimming and playing.

Chillin' in the Pool

Here is where Quinn spends a large portion of his day. He swims before breakfast, during breakfast, after school in the afternoon and sometimes before bed. The pool has been a godsend for us.

I dont know if you can tell from the picture, but it is VERY calm here today. The wind is not moving and the bugs are out. It is very humid. The calmness is odd for our house. The wind is almost always blowing. Of course not having any air condition yet makes it very interseting. You can see where the kids spend their time, in the pool

Jellyfish

We went to Maho today and Walker got stung by a jellyfish. I am trying to take a picture of her neck but the sting is so faint it is hard to get a good picture. Lucky for us it does not hurt to much or bother her at all.

Lind Point Trail

We hiked the Lind Point trail with Luke while he was here. The trail is flat and about 1 mile from the parking lot to the beach. We stopped at Solomon Beach to swim for a bit before hiking back.

Mr. Luke's Visit

Watching the iguana while waiting at the playground by the airport for Luke to come.

Getting ready to do a beach dive at Lamashur Bay.

What now?
Part of Jay's scuba equiptment did not work so this is as far as they made it! They did some snorkeling instead.

Fun at Lamashur Bay while Daddy and Luke are "trying" to scuba.
We had a great time with Luke. Jay and Luke went diving one day. They went out and dove the HMS Rhone over in the BVI's. Luke did some hiking while he was here. We took him over to Skinnys, Wednesday play time in Coral Bay, Maho Bay and even to church. We ate a lot of food and drank lots of drinks that require umbrella's. Jay even had "the flu" one day. A great time was had by all. The big question is when will Mr. Luke return????

Lofts

The lofts are in, painted, and DONE! The kids love them. They spend so much time under them and up on top reading. Quinn loves to be able to run around the room and shoot baskets.
