Not where it is supposed to be

Walker was warming up Saturday at her softball tournament and decided to take one off the lip/tooth. Lucky for her it was only a baby tooth. Her team went onto come in 2nd place, losing only in the championship game.

When it rains it pours

Quinn wanted his own trip to the emergency room so he decided to fall off the monkey bars at school. He had a fracture in his humerus up by his shoulder. Immobilizer for 4-6 weeks!

On the way home from Indiana

On the way home from Indiana we had a piece of metal come off of I75, off of the hood, and through the windshield.  The 4 1/2 lb piece of metal hit Walker in the face on her cheek.  After 2 ambulance rides, 2 emergency room visits, 5 stitches, and a trip to Waffle house at 2 am we made it home.  We are extremely fortunate that that is the only thing that happened.  Quinn called 911 from the backseat and the paramedics and police were there within 5-10 minutes.  Luckily we were only 30 minutes from home.  Walker is doing fine.  She has taken to wearing a band-aid over the stitches until it heals a bit more.

Indiana

Once softball was over the kids and I drove up to Indiana to see Susie and Uldis for a few days.  We had a great time shopping, visiting the Louisville Slugger Museum and factory, eating yummy food, and just spending time together.

First day of School!

Woohoo! Its the first day of school. Quinn is in 5th and Walker 7th.

I am so proud of these girls!!! They fought hard, played hard, and do amazing!! Over all they finished 5th out of 14 teams. They mainly played teams from Texas. They battled through heat, injuries, and overall fatigue to play the best tournament of the season! Go Select!

Bats

The Louisville Slugger factory and museum is an amazing place. Watching them make MLB bats was pretty neat, especially seeing the Braves players bats being made.

What else do we do!

I wish I could say we are in Ft. Myers for Spring Break but nope, we are stuck in Dunwoody.  Well, kinda. Both kids played in tournaments the first weekend of Spring Break.  Walker played in Carrollton for 3 days and Quinn was in Douglasville for 2 days.  Lucky for us they are both on the same side of town.   Walker stayed in one of the state parks so that was her vacation!  Quinn and I drove back and forth from Carrollton while Jay stayed and chaperoned the girls.  The girls have made huge strides since the Fall.  Even though they only won 3 games out of 7 they hung with some teams that are a year older and a foot taller.

Quinn's Ninth Inning Royals made it to the championship game of his tournament. They lost but have also made tremendous progress since they started in the Spring.

Up next, two more tournaments this weekend. Of course they are on opposite sides of town!

Congratulations Joanna and Pete

Last week Jay and I were able to go to St. Helena California to celebrate the marriage of Susie and Uldis's son Pete and Joanna.   (sorry no pictures of the bride and groom, but it was beautiful).

It was a wonderful trip filled with wonderful food
My sweet nephews Eli and Owen
Lots of wine tasting!

And a great visit with family
