The Summer of Michelle

The Summer of Michelle has officially ended!  We picked up the kids from Mary and John Yesterday.  When we got home Walker said "Finally. We get to stay home"  The kids have  been gone the majority of the month of July. They were home between Boston and Florida for a day.  I enjoyed my summer!  It is back to the grind next week. The kids start school on Monday which means I will start heading into school to get ready myself.  I cannot believe it is time, the summer flew by.  It was a great one but a fast one.

See what happens

See what happens when I type and talk on the phone, I forget things!

On the kids trip North to Dad and Terri's they got to spend the week with Terri's neices, Jessie and Molly. The kids had a blast with them and are constantly talking about them and the fun they had at the water park and their birthday celebration.

Our trip North

Susie and I left Georgia last Tuesday to head to Durham, NC to pick up the kids.  The kids had been at Dad's since the previous week. They had a blast there!  They went for ice cream, went to the movies, went bowling ("they got free pizza but you have to pay for the drinks"says Quinn)  and went to a water park.  Two totally exhausted kids left Durham for Newark NJ on Wednesday.  Thursday morning we went to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island then headed to Boston.  While in Boston the kids had a great time playing with Anna and Will, Matt and Jen's two kids.  We also hiked the freedom trail, went canoeing, went to Pizzeria Regina, my favorite pizza place, and swimming the the frog pond. We also had a blast just being with Laine and Mitch and Ashely and Andy.  That was my favorite part, just being with family!  Thursday we threw two tired kids in the back of the car and headed for Georgia.  We got in Friday night and Susie left on Saturday.

On our way we went through Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts on our way North.  On the way home we went through Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virgina, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina and Georgia. As for the license plate game, we were 6 states short of all 50!  Tomorrow we will get Florida in!

Back from vacation

We got back from our quick, exhausting, but fun trip to St. John on Tuesday.  We all slipped right back into things on St. John like we had never left.  We did Friday night a the Tap room, Saturday beach at Maho, Dinner Saturday at the Majettes, boating Sunday and Monday. We were exhausted by the time Tuesday rolled around and it was time to go home.  Once we got back everything started back up again, swim practice and softball practice. Walker has a tournament this weekend with 10 other teams. She is very excited to play against some other teams.  Quinn will do his usual, find balls and get dirty!

What summer brings

First of all sorry for the blurry picture.  I did not know my camera lens was this dirty! What does summer bring you wonder besides 7 Windhaven City Limits' kids? A trip to Target to purchase a pool.  The kids (mainly the boys) decided yesterday that they wanted to have a lemonade stand on the street to raise some money to buy a pool to put in someones front yard.  So the boys decided to make cookies, which they did, from scratch, and they were really good!  They also sold lemonade and kool aid.  They raised about $27 and with donations from other parents they were able to buy a pool and a slip-n-slide.  The funniest part was that the boys did not have very many cups so they kept mentioning to us that everyone who bought lemonade kept the cups!  The boys wanted the cups back.  Today they started up again. This time they were selling brownies donated by a neighbor.  Guess where the pool is?
