We grew watermelons in the garden this year. The first one was wonderful! We took that one to Boston and shared it with everyone there. The second we picked too soon so it was white in the middle. The third was over ripe so it had turned orange inside and tasted awful. The fourth one, perfect again! We still have 2 on the vine that we should be able to eat. The pumpkins have taken off. Hopefully there will be some orange ones by October. If not Walker says she will paint them.
