It's summer, or is it?

Everyone always says how relaxing summer is.  I dont know who these people are but it's not relaxing in our house! The first part of our summer was spent driving Walker and Quinn to their friends houses, the pool, and camp.  There is nothing relaxing about that!  There was some baseball in there.  Quinn threw out the first pitch at a Gwinnett Braves game. My camera went crazy so I dont have the actual pitch but here are some before pictures.

Quinn finished up his season with the Warriors, his travel baseball team.  Of course, no pictures!  It was a great season and we are looking forward to the fall with the Warriors!!

Quinn played on his tournament team out of Murphey Candler. They went 0-2 but had fun!

Walker and her team traveled to Oklahoma City to play in the Hall of Fame Classic. This tournament is played at the facility where they have the women's college world series.  Ga Select went 5-2 placing 4th over all! They earned their berth to Nationals in Bloomington later this month.  They had a great win 3-2 with two ITB innings.  And they got to play in the stadium!

Next stop, DC to visit Mitch, Laine, Eli, and Noah!

Busy

Life in the Wicklund house is pretty busy...  Thanksgiving in Indiana, basketball, baseball, softball, Christmas, and it all just keeps going!

Snowmageddon part 1

As you know, Atlanta got some snow a few weeks ago.  The kids loved it!!  We were out of school for 3 days and lucky for us live close enough to where we work and go to school, except for Jay. Lucky  for Jay he was in California golfing.  We are currently experiencing Snowmageddon part 2.  Ice and freezing rain.  We hope it goes well and we keep power!

Not where it is supposed to be

Walker was warming up Saturday at her softball tournament and decided to take one off the lip/tooth. Lucky for her it was only a baby tooth. Her team went onto come in 2nd place, losing only in the championship game.

When it rains it pours

Quinn wanted his own trip to the emergency room so he decided to fall off the monkey bars at school. He had a fracture in his humerus up by his shoulder. Immobilizer for 4-6 weeks!

On the way home from Indiana

On the way home from Indiana we had a piece of metal come off of I75, off of the hood, and through the windshield.  The 4 1/2 lb piece of metal hit Walker in the face on her cheek.  After 2 ambulance rides, 2 emergency room visits, 5 stitches, and a trip to Waffle house at 2 am we made it home.  We are extremely fortunate that that is the only thing that happened.  Quinn called 911 from the backseat and the paramedics and police were there within 5-10 minutes.  Luckily we were only 30 minutes from home.  Walker is doing fine.  She has taken to wearing a band-aid over the stitches until it heals a bit more.

Indiana

Once softball was over the kids and I drove up to Indiana to see Susie and Uldis for a few days.  We had a great time shopping, visiting the Louisville Slugger Museum and factory, eating yummy food, and just spending time together.

First day of School!

Woohoo! Its the first day of school. Quinn is in 5th and Walker 7th.

Bats

The Louisville Slugger factory and museum is an amazing place. Watching them make MLB bats was pretty neat, especially seeing the Braves players bats being made.
